WHY?
So you may be asking, what motivates us to support Lifeline and take part in the Push‑Up Challenge?
It’s simple — 3,307 reasons.
That number represents the 3,307 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2024. It is a confronting statistic, and one that highlights why this conversation matters. Additionally, 1 in 5 Australians — around 4.3 million people — live with a mental health condition.
Both Tom and Luke have lost loved ones to suicide. As middle‑aged men who have also experienced their own mental health challenges, they believe there is nothing to hide from. It’s time to bring meaningful conversations about how we’re really feeling to the forefront.
By talking openly about mental health and supporting those who may be struggling, we help normalise these conversations and break down the stigma and silence that too often surrounds them. If you are struggling or hurting, know that you are not alone — there are people who care, who love you, and who want to support you.
